President Barack Obama that Americans don’t want abortion funding
in the health care bill Congress is considering.

How Sex Ed Harms Children

The “sex educators” in our schools are harming our children.  They teach sexual freedom and exploration.  Leading the way are Planned Parenthood, SIECUS, and Advocates for Youth. Their movement in the classroom began with fraudulent sex “scientist” Alfred Kinsey.

In an earlier post, we urged parents to read ‘You’re Teaching My Child WHAT? A physician exposes the lies of sex ed and they harm your child’ by Miriam Grossman, M.D.

TALK BY DR. MIRIAM GROSSMAN on VIDEO. 52 minutes.

If you think sex education is still about the birds and the bees, think again.  As Dr. Miriam Grossman explains in her new book, it’s not about science either.  Today’s sex ed programs serve to perpetuate liberal lies and politically correct propaganda that promoting the illusion that children can be sexually free without risk.  Dr. Grossman cites example after example of schools and organizations whitewashing – or omitting altogether – crucial information that doesn’t accord with their politically correct agenda.  Instead, sex educators only tell teens the “facts of life” that promote acceptance, sexual exploration, and experimentation.  What sex educators call an education, scientists would call a scam.  In You’re Teaching My Child What?, Dr. Grossman reveals biological truths that you won’t find in today’s classrooms.  You’re Teaching My Child What? is critical reading for parents with teens and a vital resource for teaching children the truth about sex.

Miriam Grossman, M.D., is a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist who began You’re Teaching My Child What? as a Senior Fellow at the Clare Boothe Luce Policy Institute.  She is a contributing columnist at Townhall.com and speaks to parents, students, educators, and health professionals internationally on the dangers of both political correctness and incorrect science in her profession.

Day Gardner calls on blacks to recognize impact of abortion during Black History Month

Day Gardner calls on blacks to recognize impact of abortion during Black History Month :: Catholic News Agency (CNA).

.- Day Gardner of the National Black Pro-Life Union has said that during Black History Month Americans should acknowledge abortion’s disproportionate impact on blacks and should see abortion advocacy as a form of “ethnic cleansing” that targets the black community. “Abortion providers are still being located for the most part in black neighborhoods and are still delivering the same old message,” Gardner said, claiming their message is that black, poor urban children are “not worthy of life” and that America would “be a better place without black people.”

Writing in a Tuesday commentary, she recounted the history of black oppression at the hands of groups like the Ku Klux Klan (KKK).

“The Klan’s aim was to prevent African-Americans from voting, getting an education, competing for jobs and owning property,” she explained.

While the KKK conducted a “lynching war” on blacks in the American South, Gardner charged that Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger and her allies were devising an “evil plan” to enforce what Sanger called “race hygiene.”

In a 1922 book the birth control activist called for the elimination of “human weeds,” the segregation of “morons, misfits and maladjusted” and for the sterilization of “genetically inferior races.” According to Gardner, Sanger associated with known racists and was the guest speaker at a Ku Klux Klan rally in Silverlake, New Jersey in 1926.

In 1939, Sanger launched the Negro Project. Gardner claimed this effort planned to “get rid of black people” by limiting their population growth with abortion and sterilization. She also charged that Sanger sought to use the clergy and charismatic members of the black community to advance her cause in a form of “ethnic cleansing.”

Gardner cited Sanger’s letter to Dr. Clarence Gamble in which she wrote:

“The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population. And the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.”

The organization Sanger founded, Planned Parenthood, makes money by “killing children – especially black children,” Gardner charged. While the KKK killed about 3,500 people since its beginnings in 1865, Planned Parenthood is responsible for “more than 17 million black deaths since 1973.”

Catholic Identity Yanked from Hospital by Oregon Bishop

Bishop Robert Vasa is the Bishop of the Baker Diocese.  Two resources:

When Bishops Do The Right Thing by Rev. Thomas Euteneuer, President, Human Life International

The point of contention that the good bishop had with the St. Charles Hospital in Bend, OR was the hospital’s practice of surgical sterilization. Apparently the Board of Directors thought that the Church’s clear prohibition of this practice was, uh, optional. So after a fair and timely investigation, the bishop could not convince the hospital administration to change practices and simply yanked the Catholic name and insignia from the building with the exception of the cross on top to remind them of their failure to live up to the challenge of the Cross. Can’t you hear the bishop wince when the president of the healthcare chain, James Diegel, said that the hospital had “an obligation to provide comprehensive health care services to our patients while remaining true to our values of compassion and caring for all”? This sounds like slimy Planned Parenthood language if you ask me.

There are just a handful of bishops in the technologically-sophisticated western world, however, who exhibit the resolute moral courage that is required to remove the title of “Catholic” from an institution that is in rebellion against the authentic Faith; even fewer who have the guts to discipline a public figure who betrays the Faith in favor of his own leftist values. (Vice President Joe Biden, by the way, appeared in public on Wednesday with ashes on his forehead….) Yet, there is a growing trend in the United States toward greater episcopal strength and orthodoxy, and we have to applaud it when we see it because these bishops will be severely attacked and will need our support.

Hospital Decided It Could Not Meet The Catholic Standard by Bishop Robert Vasa, The Catholic Sentinel.

BEND — In the course of the past several weeks I have focused on what it means for individuals and institutions to be Catholic. I have done this, in part, because of a concern about Catholic colleges and hospitals in general but also, in part, because of very specific discussions I have been having with the administration of St. Charles Medical Center, a Catholic health care institution, in Bend. Over the course of the past several years I have struggled with the difficulty of trying to reconcile some practices ongoing at the medical center with clear Church teaching.

Planned Parenthood Pushes Intensive Sex Education for Kids as Young as 10

Fox News 02/08/10

A new report by the International Planned Parenthood Federation is advocating that children as young as 10 be given extensive sex education, including an awareness of sex’s pleasures. The report, “Stand and Deliver,” charges that religious groups, specifically Catholics and Muslims, deny their young access to comprehensive sexual programs and education.

The Pro-Abortion Clergy of Planned Parenthood

EXCLUSIVE!

Planned Parenthood’s Clergy-Activist to Speak at Opening of Abortion Mill

By Nina Rhea, Director, Pro-Life Action of Oregon

January 12, 2010

Portland, Ore. – On Sunday Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette’s (PPCW) grand opening program for their mega-abortion mill will feature a speech by their own full-time pro-abortion chaplain and activist Rev. Vincent Lachina.  Lachina is an active member of Planned Parenthood of America’s (PPFA) Clergy Advisory Board.

The grand opening is scheduled in the middle of Black History Month on February 14.

PPCW’s new abortion mill is centrally located in Portland’s predominantly Black neighborhood on a busy street named after Martin Luther King, Jr.

Pro-Life Action of Oregon has learned that Planned Parenthood of Washington State hired Rev. Lachina full time in 2004. Born into an Italian Catholic family, and now a Baptist, Rev. Lachina is Planned Parenthood’s Washington State Chaplain with duties in Oregon, Alaska, and Idaho. He wears a Roman collar.

According to a 2006 story on Rev. Lachina in the Seattle PI , one of his duties is to relieve employees, some of whom are Christians, of their guilt, telling them that “God will not judge” them.

His other duty is to build up a network of pro-abortion clergy for political lobbying against pregnancy resource centers, parental notification, and pharmacies.  Since 1999, PPFA has published a newsletter by their clergy titled ‘Clergy Voices.’

Pro-Life Action of Oregon has also learned of a document given to Planned Parenthood clients considering abortion titled Pastoral Letter About Your Abortion Decision. The letter is signed by 13 clergy from Christian and Jewish faiths. It warns clients that the “religious right” refuses to accept abortion as a choice for a woman. But “we support you in whatever course you choose. Planned Parenthood keeps a list of clergy who will be supportive of you and the decision you have made.”

News of Planned Parenthood’s ordained minister is disturbing to African-American religious leaders including Rev. Isham Harris, pastor of the Upper Room Home Church located in Northeast Portland. Rev. Harris led a pro-life march through the Black neighborhood one year ago.

“This clergyman is not in harmony with the Holy Spirit because Christ came so that we may have life,” says Rev. Harris. “Psalm 137 tells us that children are a heritage of the Lord and the fruit of the womb is His reward. I question whether this reverend is being led by the Holy Spirit.”

Rev. Harris is distressed that Planned Parenthood chose Black History Month to open its abortion mill. “They have a total disregard for Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., for the plight of African-Americans. I feel the same about the Portland Development Commission. I totally abhor this.”

The city’s urban planning arm, the Portland Development Commission, approved the sale of city property to Planned Parenthood.

Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers of Immaculate Heart Church sounded the alarm about Black Genocide at the Portland Right To Life rally in January 2010. “Every week more Blacks die in American abortion clinics that were killed in the entire Vietnam war,” he told the crowd. The Culture of Death “would like us to ignore the fact that African-America women comprise 12% of the population, but have 37% of the abortions. Abortion kills as many African-American people every four days as the Ku Klux Klan killed in 150 years.”

Nina Rhea, Director of Pro-Life Action of Oregon responds:

Is Rev. Lachina not even aware that his pro-abortion activities make him an anti-Christian activist?  Rev. Lachina has urged other pro-abortion clergy to sign a statement in favor of legislation which will hamstring Christian-operated pregnancy resource centers in the state of Washington. The Clergy Statement is full of vicious attacks and outright lies against Christian-operated Pregnancy Resource Centers.

The legislation is reported about here:   ‘New Washington Bill Could Have Chilling Effects on Pregnancy Centers.’)

Rev. Lachina has publicly opposed pharmacies that refuse to dispense oral birth control drugs based on conscientious objection.

In light of this situation, the Christian principles of faith, hope, and charity are exploited to meet the needs of Planned Parenthood, not humanity. Lachina and his ilk have faith in contraception and abortion to solve problems of young people; he is lying to himself that hope comes in a package of birth control pills or an abortion mill; and he must believe that abortion is an act of charity for a young confused, scared mother!

In PPCW’s February 8, 2010 Press Release, Planned Parenthood uses their familiar lexicon of terms which hide the harm they inflict on young pregnant mothers.  They call what they do “health care,” “reproductive health care,” “sexual health care,” and “abortion care.”
We reject all these claims that Planned Parenthood cares for anybody, especially pregnant girls and women.

We call upon this imposter, Rev. Vincent Lachina, to distance himself from the abortion industry and face up to what abortion really is:  the intentional killing of a growing human being.

A pro-life protest at Planned Parenthood on Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. is scheduled from 12:30 to 6:00 p.m. on February 14. The protest is sponsored by Precious Children of Portland.

The Contraceptive Ethic

Why divide the pro-life movement by bringing up contraception?
Excerpts from Fifty Questions on Abortion, Euthanasia and Related Issues by Charles E. Rice

We tend to forget that it was only in 1930 that any Christian denomination, for the first time ever, declared that contraception could ever be objectively right under any circumstances.  This was the Anglican Lambeth Conference of 1930.  Because the Catholic Church has been unyielding in upholding the traditional Christian teaching on contraception, many today assume that opposition to contraception is merely a sectarian Catholic tenet.

On the contrary, until the 20th century, all Christendom affirmed the moral evil and social danger of contraception.  “The anti-contraception laws of 19th century America were passed by Protestants for a largely Protestant America.” [Kippley, Birth Control and Christian Discipleship]

When a committee of the Federal Council of Churches endorsed in 1931 “the careful and restrained use of contraception by married people,” a Washington Post editorial replied, “Carried to its logical conclusion, the Committee’s report, if carried into effect, would sound the death knell of marriage as a holy institution by establishing degrading practices which would encourage indiscriminate immorality.  The suggestion that the use of legalized contraceptives would be ‘careful and restrained’ is preposterous.”

Some pro-life groups [including Oregon Right To Life] take no position on contraception.  Instead, they concentrate exclusively on restoring legal protection for existing life.  This attitude, however, is a prescription for defeat.  Abortion and euthanasia are merely symptoms of the underlying rebellion against God which is manifested through secularism, relativism and the contraceptive ethic.

To attempt to combat abortion and euthanasia while maintaining neutrality on contraception is futile.

Thus, Pope John Paul II, on March 1, 1986, said to the International Right-to-Life Federation, “Your organization is rightly concerned with a broad range of issues related to human life.  At the same time, you know the necessity of focusing on specific problems which demand urgent attention and action, such as the evils of abortion, infanticide, euthanasia, and contraception, all of which are intimately connected with the Church’s teaching.  Whatever endeavors you undertake should be a consistent expression of an integral philosophy based on the belief that God is the Lord and Giver of all life.”
