Introduction

One year ago, myself and two faithful Catholic women secretly filmed this meeting of dissenting Catholic feminists.  We gave them phony names and acted ignorant.  We wanted to catch them on camera admitting to their main goalthe ordination of women priestesses.  And they did just that.  Another piece of evidence is the fact that we saw Toni Tortorilla at the meeting, the woman who was infamously “ordained” in Oregon.  200 women attended representing 20 parishes in Oregon.

Evidence from the video:  “Women are trained to be priests.  Many women have their masters in theology so there’s no reason why they couldn’t be priests.  We should have women deacons.  We feel that nuns, sisters, and women should have more rights.  There should be more openness in the Church.  The pope should be selected from male and female.”

Why did we wait so long to show you this?  Because we expected the Archdiocese to take action by now, to stop these women from infiltrating our parishes with their bitter feminist offenses to the truth.  One year ago, we’d been told by a trusted source that Archbishop Vlazny had seen the video, which I’d transferred to CD, and the transcript.

It’s been one year since OSOC’s first strategy meeting.  We’ve learned they are continuing to freely infiltrate our parishes, pressuring pastors to permit “listening circles”.  This must stop and you can help!   Last month OSOC had a second strategy meeting at St. Andrew’s.

Catholic Dissenters Agitate for Women’s Ordination in Portland

mocking mass

Catholic feminist protest included ‘sacred dancing.’

NINA RHEA, Pro-Life Action of Oregon

Portland, Ore. Sep. 30, 2010

In an unsettling show of disobedience on a holy day, Portland area Catholic protesters mocked the Mass in the Park Blocks on Sunday, September 26.

Supporters report 600 people attended representing 47 parishes.  Source.

The next large meeting is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 21 at St. Charles Catholic Church in the gym.

News coverage of this event presumes these dissenters are spokespersons for the rest of Catholic laity!  The coverage has not given anyone from the orthodox laity a voice.

The Oregonian interviewed Archbishop John Vlazny two days prior to the protest.  “Archbishop John G. Vlazny . . . doesn’t see the Catholic Church changing its position on women’s ordination.”

“Catholic Women in Portland Will Answer The Call.” The Oregonian Sep. 25, 2010. Includes Archbishop Vlazny’s response.  (The title of the online article is “We’ve Had Enough.”)

‘Mass Defection:  why local Catholics are skipping morning services this morning.’ Willamette Week Sep. 22, 2010. Includes comment by Archdiocese spokesman Bud Bunce who says,  “it’s unlikely the priests backing the demonstration will face discipline.” Marylee King, a 64-year-old parishioner at Resurrection Parish in Tualatin, counters that it’s important for her to get together with hundreds of sister Catholics unhappy about church leadership.  ‘I’m fed up with inequality and injustice by the church hierarchy,’ King says.’”

Update 12/13/10 — The Catholic Sentinel has published this photo to accompany a letter.

Organized by local group One Spirit – One Call.  Many photos and news coverage posted at their site .   The Sentinel did not publish a photo of the dancing at least not online.  Probably because its divisive, insulting and embarrassing!

Their YouTube Video begins with New Age goddess dancing and singing.  In the video, a group identifies themselves from St. Clare’s;  St. Andrew’s is the other church who put this on.

These dissenting organizations and extreme fringe groups base their relevance on the sexual abuse scandal, i.e., they are agitating for women priestesses to solve the problem of homosexual predators! We totally disagree.  They are using the scandal as an excuse to unleash their Ungodly Rage against Church teaching.

The umbrella organization of Catholic dissent groups is Catholic Organizations for Renewal.  The list includes Catholics for Choice (radically pro-abortion) and Call To Action.

We look forward to the day when these feminist agitators, who are in a perpetual state of “revolution” attacking the Church, will find another institution to attack.

It is our view that the Vatican needs to ban dissenting publications like the ‘National Catholic Reporter’ and America which foment calls for women’s ordination.  NCR is known to be a mouthpiece for Call To Action.  I’ve known of an entire parish (St. Clare’s) that reads the paper exclusively.

These dissenters need to be encouraged to leave the Catholic Church and join the Episcopalians where they’d feel more comfortable.  They are causing further scandal to every good Catholic.

Tax Measures Attract Strange Allies

PRESS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

January 8, 2010

Pro-Life Action of Oregon: Measures 66 and 67, including abortion funding, supported by Planned Parenthood and Archdiocese of Portland

Despite abortion funding, the fight to pass Measures 66 and 67 has made strange allies – Planned Parenthood and the Catholic Archdiocese of Portland.

Pro-Life Action of Oregon has confirmed that Planned Parenthood is recruiting volunteers for phone banking to urge:

“ voters to support Measures 66 & 67 to protect funding for reproductive health care [ abortion and birth control ] and other critical services like education and public safety.”

The Catholic Archdiocese in Portland is also urging Catholics to vote yes on the two measures.  See ‘Archdiocese Backs Tax Increase’ [ http://sentinel.org/node/10604 ].

Nina Rhea, founder of Pro-Life Action of Oregon, expressed her group’s grave disappointment in the Archdiocese and Planned Parenthood’s shared goal to pass the tax increase measures.

"Whenever Planned Parenthood lobbies for something, it’s a red flag.  Catholics are always called to help the poor and vulnerable,” Rhea said. "However, it goes against Church teaching — and our individual conscience — to make our tax dollars available for abortion.  The Church teaches that abortion is always an intrinsic evil."

Mrs. Rhea acknowledges that our tax money already goes to Planned Parenthood.  "But this doesn’t mean we can’t speak out and oppose an increase to their coffers."

Both Planned Parenthood and the National Abortion Rights Action League-Oregon are lobbying hard to pass these tax measures.
Several concerned Catholics have written to Pro-Life Action including James Welsh who says,

“I hope that when our Archbishop learns of their deep involvement, he will retract his support for the tax increases.”

Archbishop John Vlazny is scheduled to speak at the annual Pro-Life Rally on January 17 in Pioneer Courthouse Square.  The rally is sponsored by Oregon Right To Life. The archbishop could not be reached at the time of this release.

Pro-Life Action of Oregon placed a call to the Archdiocese.  Upon hearing that both Planned Parenthood and NARAL were urging supporters to vote yes, the Archdiocesan Chancellor Mary Jo Tully replied, “That’s not a bad thing is it?”

After being asked whether the archbishop knows about Planned Parenthood and NARAL’s lobbying efforts, Chancellor Tully replied, “No, I don’t think he knows.”

Pro-Life Action of Oregon also made a follow-up phone call to the Office of Justice and Peace to obtain Matt Cato’s reaction to Planned Parenthood’s lobbying.  "It’s coincidental and doesn’t change what we’re lobbying for."

Cato says the Archdiocese is lobbying for health care, education, and police funds.

Archdiocese approves Oregon tax increases

ARCHDIOCESE BACKS TAX INCREASE, Catholic Sentinel, January 7, 2010 issue

In an interview with the Catholic Sentinel, Matt Cato, director of the Archdiocese of Portland’s Justice and Peace Office, is claiming that raising taxes — on businesses during a recession — is in line with Catholic Social Teaching.

From the U.S. Bishops

Option for the Poor and Vulnerable
A basic moral test is how our most vulnerable members are faring. In a society marred by deepening divisions between rich and poor, our tradition recalls the story of the Last Judgment (Mt 25:31-46) and instructs us to put the needs of the poor and vulnerable first.

Yet, isn’t raising taxes NOW not a burden on those of us who can use our earnings to DIRECTLY HELP the poor and vulnerable first?  How can we trust organizations with our money?

Opponents of M66 and M67 are business owners who will be unable to create jobs!  Visit www.StopJobKillingTaxes.com for more facts.

Included in a long list of Measure 66 and 67 advocates — who stand to fill their coffers with tax money — are pro-abortion groups:

Oregon’s Special Election is January 26, 2010 – The Voters’ Pamphlet is in the mail this week.  Pro-Life Action of Oregon is recommending you VOTE NO!!

Catholics are called to always help the poor!  We freely do so!

Local CCHD Grantee Refers Homeless to Planned Parenthood

The grantee is also involved in partisan politics.

Portland, Ore. – Posted December 23, 2009, Pro-Life Action of Oregon

STREET ROOTS, a newspaper for the homeless, received $5,000 of Archdiocesan money this year that originates from the collection basket at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.  See Dec. 17, 2009 Sentinel article: ‘Archdiocese of Portland Presents Grants to Anti-Poverty Groups.’

“When the bishops formed the CCHD, they wanted to take a step beyond charity,” Archbishop John Vlazny says, explaining the program as a complement to the work of Catholic Charities and other groups.

The idea of the bishops was to help the poor help themselves via economic development. The campaign is still choosy about whom it funds, Archbishop Vlazny says, making sure all church criteria are met.

The national campaign backs projects, but so do local dioceses. The three local grants given last week were selected with the help of a committee guided by Matt Cato, director of the archdiocese’s Office of Justice and Peace and Respect for Life.   [Emphasis added.]

Follow The Left-Wing Ideology

The Street Roots newspaper publishes a homeless guide, ‘THE ROSE CITY RESOURCE.’

The Rose City Resource guidebook refers the homeless – under “Health Resources” – to PLANNED PARENTHOOD.  Pro-Life Action of Oregon spoke with Eddie Barbosa today and he confirmed that their current guidebook lists Planned Parenthood.  (He gave us the phone numbers and the Tri-Met bus numbers to take, thinking we called for directions.)

Furthermore, the guidebook online displays a MAP OF RESOURCES.  We located Planned Parenthood locations on the map.

Also troubling is the PARTISAN POLITICS involved.  Street Roots newspaper online directs visitors to DEMOCRACY IN ACTION: “Wiring The Progressive Movement.”

Help us continue to serve the community by donating to the Rose City Resource via a secure link through our friends at Democracy in Action.

Are you upset as we are?  We’re pretty upset.  In fact, we’re angry at the sheer ignorance of those at the Archdiocese in charge of our money.

A soup kitchen would be better!!  Donate to the poor DIRECTLY!

Planned Parenthood is an enemy of the Catholic Church.  Just look at this fund raising ad which mocks Our Lord’s birth:  CHOICE ON EARTH.

Who else mocks Jesus Christ?  SATAN.  He is the prince of lies.
