Planned Parenthood’s National Condom Week

STAFFORD, VA – As Planned Parenthood kicks off National Condom Week tomorrow, it will also be actively engaged in selling underage sex to children, as young as those in grade school, with graphic videos and books.  The American Life League compiled a disturbing video of Planned Parenthood’s sexualization materials that are presented to school-age children across the country. “Any parent that sees the video of Planned Parenthood’s material for school children will be horrified,” said Jim Sedlak, vice president of the American Life League.  “Planned Parenthood’s business model is aimed at making money from people who are engaged in sexual activity.  The earlier Planned Parenthood can get girls having sex, the more money they make.  Many of these children will become the women who will have abortions, which made up 51% of Planned Parenthood’s clinic revenue in 2010.”

The video, Hooking Kids on Sex, exposes a book used by Planned Parenthood’s sex educators for 10-year-olds with graphic images about how to masturbate, put on a condom, and have sexual intercourse.

“If a dirty old man showed this book to kids in a park, he’d be arrested,” continued Sedlak. “Why does Planned Parenthood, a taxpayer-funded organization, get to distribute these books to our children and get more government money?”

The video also exposes Planned Parenthood of the Upper Hudson’s S.T.A.R.S  (Seriously Talking About Responsible Sex) program, which required teens to go see Capital Pride, a parade of drag queens, gay couples kissing and men in thongs dancing on stage.

“Planned Parenthood wants kids to choose them for their sexual education over their own parents,” said Sedlak. “They want to be the trusted friend and advocate for kids of all ages. They know that a conversation about sex with a stranger or browsing a Planned Parenthood website about teen sex is easier than talking with their parents. At the end of the video is a link to Defund Planned Parenthood Action Center where you can send a letter to Members of Congress.  The letter demands an end to all taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood.

“The non-science, pornographic content of these school sex ed programs are abusive.  Planned Parenthood’s websites are saturated with dangerous sex games erroneously labeled ‘education’ and ‘safe sex.’  This is not education but indoctrination into casual underage sex.  There is no such thing as ‘safe sex.’  According to the Centers for Disease Control, the most reliable ways to avoid sexually transmitted disease is either abstaining from sex, or to be in a long-term monogamous relationship with an uninfected partner. However, many infected persons may be unaware of their infections because STD’s are often asymptomatic.  [www.cdc.gov/condomeffectiveness/latex.htm]

Cecile Richards is spitting mad.  The CEO of Planned Parenthood starts a petition campaign against Congressman Stearns and vows to send thousands of letters from supporters of Planned Parenthood to Congress.

Richards informed her members the abortion giant will comply with the request for information, but started a petition campaign to harass and intimidate Stearns by sending him thousands of letters designed to show opposition from Americans to the investigation.

“When we deliver the boxes of documents Congressman Stearns has demanded, I want to add one more:  stacks of letters to Rep. Stearns signed by thousands of Planned Parenthood supporters from every state across the country. I want to show him how many of us are unwilling to stand by quietly while he and his anti-choice, anti-women’s health buddies keep hammering at Planned Parenthood,” Richards writes.

Richards closes the fundraising appeal claiming Stearns’ investigation is unconstitutional, saying, “Stearns and his allies are looking for a different way to come after us. They’re misusing their power to harass Planned Parenthood and keep the health centers from serving patients.”

Joan Stromberg is the owner and publisher of the Catholic-focused Little Flowers Girls’ Club materials. She said Little Flowers reinforces the Catholic faith and has a fun, club-like atmosphere.

“Every little girl I know that has been in Little Flowers has loved it. It has been a positive experience,” said Stromberg.

WASHINGTON, D.C., July 20, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) – After the Institute of Medicine (IOM) this week publicly backed government-mandated birth control coverage, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) is standing in the breach against what would prove a massive victory for abortion giant Planned Parenthood.

The birth control question has sparked a rare spectacle as the two most influential lobbies on sexual health forcefully butt heads over an issue many other interest groups consider secondary.

“Pregnancy is not a disease, and fertility is not a pathological condition to be suppressed by any means technically possible,” said Cardinal Daniel DiNardo, chairman of the Committee on Pro-Life Activities of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, Tuesday.

Like other conservative leaders, the USCCB pro-life chairman noted that the mandate would violate the conscience rights of Americans morally opposed to birth control, and objected to coverage of “emergency contraception” such as ella, a chemical functionally identical to the abortion drug RU-486.

But the cardinal’s challenge did not stop there: DiNardo noted that the IOM report was so radical as to have indicated interest in recommending full abortion coverage as well. The report stated that, “despite the health and well-being benefits to some women,” abortion was outside of the project’s scope given federal legal restrictions.

Defund Planned Parenthood Action Center Launched

Today the American Life League’s Stop Planned Parenthood has launched a new Action Center.

STOPP International, a project of American Life League, announced today that it is launching a major education campaign to raise public awareness supported by an action center that helps citizens to “stop waste, fraud, and the abuse of public funds by Planned Parenthood and its inside-the-beltway supporters.”

“Our Defunding Planned Parenthood Action Center is the first to integrate short educational videos, current research, and up-to-the-moment news with user friendly technology that will help inform, motivate, and empower citizens to make a difference,” said Johanna Dasteel, who headed the development of the action center over the last several months. “We are witnessing an explosion all across the country from average citizens who do not want to see Planned Parenthood get another penny of taxpayer money. Our action center will help those voices be heard.”

Recently, there has been a growing call for a full Congressional investigation of Planned Parenthood.  “President Obama defends millions in taxpayer subsidies to a corrupt organization like Planned Parenthood, but then threatens to cut off payments to seniors and veterans,” added Dasteel.

ALL also released a commentary and video, both titled Hiding Behind Hyde, explaining why the Hyde Amendment does little if anything to stop tax dollars from funding abortions as claimed.

Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) has dispatched a “Truth Team” to rally opposition to the Pence Amendment (H.R. 1, sec. 4013), a measure to stop federal funding of PPFA and its 102 affiliates. But not everything said by PPFA officials and sympathetic media has been the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

In the interest of an informed debate about taxpayer funding of PPFA, a few omissions and potentially misleading statements are addressed below [in this article].

All this adds up to a revolving door of customers, constantly returning for the pricier services: emergency contraception; pregnancy tests; STD testing and treatment, including Pap tests for cervical cancer (100 percent of which is caused by certain persistent strains of the sexually transmitted human papilloma virus [HPV]), diagnostic colposcopies and LOOP/LEEP procedures; cryotherapy; HIV testing; and, of course, the big money-maker, abortions.

Why haven’t supporters of PPFA funding in Congress and the press noticed that something is amiss?  Here is an organization that offers contraception (35 percent of 2009 services)[16] for “safe sex,” yet also reports that 35 percent of its services deal with the failure of “safe sex” to protect against STDs (testing and treatment), and 11 percent of clients undergo abortions. Is it not likely that some of the same clients going to Planned Parenthood for contraception are returning for these other services when PPFA and contraception fail them? After all, 54 percent of women seeking abortions report they were using contraceptives in the month they became pregnant (see Table 61, p.98).
